Transportation Analyst (graduates) – talent pool

As Transportation Analyst in the Outbound Prime Product Transportation Team, you will join the EAME Last Mile team that delivers about 30.000 Caterpillar machines per year to our 27 European dealers from 50+ ship sources and European ports to 500+ destination addresses. You will play a vital role in seeking and implementing network improvement projects to help support Caterpillar’s freight cost reduction.

Key Job functions include but not limited to:

  • Oversee shipping processes operated by load planning team, provide leadership to them and act as hands-on escalation layer
  • Leverage business insight tools and operational knowledge to seek and identify structurally small and large-scale network optimization opportunities for machine deliveries to European dealers which help to reduce Caterpillar’s overall freight cost
  • Demonstrate project management skills and leadership in implementing identified opportunities, including coordination with all involved stakeholders
  • Manage stakeholder (ground & ocean carrier, service provider and shipping site) relationships to provide effective transit planning for Caterpillar products
  • Interface with all supply chain process partners to support our dealer’s customer experience and satisfaction
  • Understand and support the further expansion of Last Mile delivery services for new and existing flows in the region, including deploying our transportation management system and solution to new providers and locations
  • Support the deployment of LEAN principles which will help to focus on the customer while reducing our waste levels in transportation processes.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor / Master degree, preferably in Logistics or Supply chain, Engineering, Finance, IT and/or prior experience in international transportation areas
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a business environment, preferably with exposure to transportation or logistics
  • Strong ability to manage transportation operations in a hands-on and pragmatic manner
  • Strong interest in the logistics and transportation process and network design and transportation solutions.
  • Strong interest, confirmed affinity and growing capabilities in analytics and business intelligence tools (PowerBI), customer relationship management tools (Salesforce) and transportation systems
  • Proven problem-solving skills and mindset through hands-on experience or data-driven approaches
  • Strong communication (English) and relationship management skills
